Painting With Lemon Frosting

Aiden got a little artistic tonight and decided to paint the wall and his puzzle with some lemon frosting... Of course this is going on when I am trying to get the kitchen cleaned up from dinner.  And of course Jaylee was screaming, so I didn't notice how quiet Aiden was being.  Aiden helped me clean it up, it wasn't too bad...  So glad I have a spot to document all the funny things he does.

One handed meals?

Forget the 30 minute meals that I've seen on TV, that is WAY too long for a single mom of a three year old, and a soon to be one year old.  I love cooking, I just do't have the time.  I need fifteen minute meals that I can do with one hand when the other is occupied getting things for the three year old while holding the one year old.  Oh yeah, they also need to be healthy... If you have any ideas, please post it in the comment section.

Clean House

I have a clean house, I am sure it will last about 10 minutes...  The sweet part is Aiden said to me last night, "Thanks for cleaning the house, Mom.  I love you!"  Now mind you, it wasn't dirty...just cluttered with toys of a three year old and a baby.  Each now have their own bucket of toys (and of course Jaylee heads straight to Aidens), legos are in a big container, and puzzles are neatly stacked.  New curtains are hanging in the living room thanks to my momma!  Laundry WAS done, and kitchen is clean!  Not to mention I learned how to grill this weekend, and now own a lawn mower that I can start thanks to my dad.  So overall, it was a productive weekend, but I am glad to have the kids back home.

Legoland

Aiden had a blast at Legoland in Schaumburg, IL.  Here are a few pics from our afternoon.
We found a garbage truck made of Legos.

We took our picture with cousin Drew's favorite...Batman!

Building an airplane.

Success!  With a little help from Mom.

Niabi Zoo

Jaylee's First Haircut

Jaylee got her first haircut at Current Waves.  Becky, the gal that cuts my hair, cut it for her.  She did a great job!  Jaylee sat still on my lap the whole time.  She did not like the "cape" that they put on her, so that was quickly removed :)

Spring Break

Papa and Aiden eating salad.
We started Spring Break by celebrating my birthday. Aiden's favorite food of the weekend was Caesar salad.

Mason and Aiden

Aiden, Mason, Sydney
Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate Mason's birthday (a boy from daycare).  Aiden had lots of fun spending his tokens.  His favorite was basketball.  He was able to get 20 extra since it was close to his half birthday!

To the Zoo!
On Wednesday we went to the zoo with some of my school friends.  Aiden was excited to see the snakes (eww!), and feed the fish.  The fish weren't too hungry, but the goats were!  I'll post more zoo pics in a separate post.

Breakfast outside!
He said it was easier to just carry it up the small hill.
St. Patrick's Day
After dressing in green on Thursday, it was so nice out we decided to head outside for breakfast.  After eating, we went for a short walk/ride down the sidewalk, took Aiden for a haircut, and took a longer walk at the middle school.  While there we got to see the recycling truck...  Aiden didn't take his eyes off of it!
Garbage Truck

After our walk we headed to Legoland in Schaumburg, Illinois.  Aiden has become very interested in Legos recently.  He wanted to go back the next day!

Spring Break went by so fast!  I had fun with the kiddos, and can't wait till Summer when we can have lots of fun outside!

Garbage Trucks

I made this garbage truck book for Aiden.  He loves to read and look at it.  I love to use Shutterfly for photo related items.

More Aidenisms

On Tuesday we went to Toys R Us to get a gift, Aiden really wanted a Lego toy, and I tried to explain it was too much money, and he couldn't have it. The next morning, as soon as he woke up he said, I want to go to that store and see if that toy is on sale. :). What a shopper he is ;)

Later when I was telling someone the story he said, let's go to Wal-Mart, it's cheaper!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Look what the leprechaun brought us :)

What Happens When...?

"What happens when I'm 4?"  You get to go to preschool and start T-Ball.
"What happens when I'm 5?"  You will go to preschool again!  And maybe soccer?
"What happens when I'm 6?"  You will go to kindergarten.

"What happens when you are three one (31 my new age)?"  Nothing fun!

More Garbage Trucks

When Papa and Grandma went to Italy, they bought Aiden two Italian garbage trucks, very cool!  And then today,  Aiden conned his Papa into another garbage truck.  He noticed that there was a place for a garbage man to stand on the back and said, "There's a place for a garbage man to stand.  I need a pretend garbage man for my pretend garbage truck."  The things he says just crack me up sometimes...

Dress Up Days

We have had dress up days at school this week. Aiden loves it!  Tuesday was 60's Day, Wednesday was Jersey Day, and Thursday was Pirate Day.  I didn't get a pic of the kids in their Cubs outfits, but they were pretty darn cute!

Fun in the Snow

I had been wanting to get some good snow pics.  I took these a few weeks ago, it is so hard to get a good one of both Aiden and Jaylee together!

Sleeping Through the Night Update...

Jaylee has been crying less and for shorter amounts of time...we are making progress!

Easter

"What's Easter about Aiden?"  I asked.

"God!"  He yelled.  Man of few words!

Sleeping Through The Night!

So with everything going on in my life, I haven't pressed the whole sleeping though the night thing with Jaylee.  Last night I decided it was time...  So I began the cry it out process.  I know it was harder on me than it was on her.  She cried for about 45minutes and then fell back asleep.  Don't worry, it wasn't all out crying, just a wimper here and there.  We will see how tonight goes.

Funny and Not So Funny Sayings from Aiden this Week

"Charlotte says you can't tease Mommy, only joke!"  He does listen!

"I'm right, you're wrong! Hmm!"

"Is it Tuesday?  Tuesday is cake day!"

"I'm bigger now, can we go to Walmart to get that thing you said I could have when I'm older?"

"I got a big butt Mama.  You do too!"

"Mom, it is raining outside. Go back home and get me a hat!"
